Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure is a fun game that introduces a clever twist on the rpg genre. Move around the world by sliding tiles, thus changing the structure of the world around you. This unique mechanic is the key to success in Arranger, and you’ll need to adjust your gaming mindset. Just like how in Portal, you need to ‘start thinking with portals’, in Arranger, you need to start thinking with tiles.
The first quest may seem a little daunting, but don’t worry! This Arranger Find Someone to Take Your Things Quest Guide will talk you through it step-by-step. I’ll cover some basic tips, and then get into the specifics of all the parts. By the end of this walk-through you’ll have completed the first quest in Arranger.

Some Tips to Get You Started
To make the rest of the guide as clear as possible, here are some overall tips to help you get used to the movement in Arranger. Bear these in mind when following the instructions in the other steps. You can refer back to this guide as often as you need to.
Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure Tips and Tricks.
Starting the First Quest
Once you have received the ‘Find Someone to Take Your Things’ quest from Susie, leave the house by moving towards the door. Head to your right, and you’ll meet your first NPC, Roby. Speak to her, and she’ll advise you to visit Mage Micah as well as the mayor.
Head right, and you’ll knock Caretaker Foffy off their ladder (don’t worry, it’s what you’re supposed to do). Once they’re done berating you, head upwards and to the right. You’ll see the Mayor’s house to your right, and a rolled up tile in your way. If you were to head upwards and try to go right towards the house, you’d find it blocked by a guy named Rictus. Don’t do this yet, just make note of where it is, as you’ll be coming back later.
Go back down to where Caretake Foffy is. Head down and to the right, and keep going right until you see a house that looks kind of like a turnip wielding swords. This is Mage Micah’s house. Go through the door and speak to him. He’ll offer to take your things, on the condition that you clear his basement. Time for you first sub-quest!
Clearing the Basement
The Arranger Clearing the Basement quest is your first encounter with puzzles. Head into the basement (enter through the right of Micah’s house) and prepare to fight some monsters! You need to slay the monsters by sliding swords onto them. My tips from the start will come in handy here. These puzzles will get harder as you go on, so I have a handy videos that shows each of the monsters so you can see what to do. The time stamps are as thus:
- Monster 1 – 00:05
- Monster 2 – 00:14
- Monster 3 – 00:25
- Monster 4 – 00:46
- Monster 5 – 01:03
- Monster 6 – 01:34
After all that, Micah decides not to take your things after all, and suggests you talk to the Mayor instead.
Finding the Mayor
To find the Mayor, head back to the area I mentioned previously (the one where Rictus blocks the path). Follow the path around until you are stood just above Rictus. Remember how the tiles wrap around? Instead of trying to head down past him, head up, and allow yourself to wrap around to the bottom. You can unroll the tile now to make it easier to get here next time. Head right, and enter the Mayor’s house (bring a plant pot in with you).
Inside, you’ll see a button, move your plant pot onto the button, and it’ll reveal a new path at the top. Follow that path. Continue through the house, placing items on any buttons you see. This part is very simple since there are plenty of items inside.
Soon you’ll find the Mayor. Speak to him, and although he won’t be able to take your things himself, he’ll suggest a new idea. He’ll point you towards the South West of town, and mention an old resident, Nimbus, who left his house empty.
Nimbus’ House
We’re on the home stretch now! Head to the South West of town, and you’ll see Roby with an exclamation mark over her head. Go and talk to her, and she’ll move aside to reveal a new path on your left. Take that path and follow it through until you encounter a house that looks a bit like a rotten turnip.
Now head back home (there’s a rolled tile on your way back that can act as a shortcut). Grab your things from Susie, and move them to Nimbus’s House. Once inside, move your items into the glowing wardrobe at the back of the house. You need to give them one last shove once they’re inside, by moving yourself directly up to the wardrobe.
A book will drop down from the ceiling. Interact with the book and you’ll read an ominous message. But hey, that’s a problem for future you! For now, good news, you’ve completed the Arranger Find Someone to Take Your Things quest! You can then leave by the side door that appears.
Conclusion
I hope this Arranger Find Someone to Take Your Things quest guide was useful to you, and that you’ve been able to complete this first quest and move on with the game. The Arranger Clearing the Basement quest guide should’ve helped you not only solve that first puzzle, but get an idea of how to beat future puzzles.
