Continuing to make our way through the impressive selection of games, we now come to the letter F. There are some really great titles in there, which made narrowing it down very tough. First, let’s go through some of the games that very nearly were my top pick, as well as other genres that don’t appeal to me, but may be right up your street. Then, we’ll look at what I consider to be the best Xbox Game Pass game beginning with F!
The Contenders
As I said, a really solid group of games this time. Personally, I’m not a fan of horror, but if you are, then you’re in luck. There are a grand total of 5 games from the Five Night at Freddy’s franchise. That’s a whole lot of jump scares for you to knuckle down on. FNAF is a bit tamer than other horror games such as Resident Evil or Outlast, so it’s good if you enjoy being a bit scared, but don’t want to have nightmares for a week.

If you enjoy sports games, there are 4 Fifa titles available, and 2 F1 games. They came through when Game Pass merged with EA Play, and they’re relatively up to date. Whilst the F1 games are the 2019 version, Fifa has the 21 season available. There are also two Forza titles available, and when it comes to driving games, Forza’s the gold standard. The graphics and physics engines are unmatched, and it’s a wonderful experience.
When it comes to RPGs, Game Pass really excels. It has several entries from two of the most popular franchises, Fallout and Final Fantasy. So whether you enjoy gritty post-apocalyptic storylines, or more mystical, fantasy-based ones, you’re covered. They both go hard with the world-building and immersion, so you’re bound to have a good time. There’s a reason those franchises are internationally renowned. It’s because they’re fantastic.

Finally, I’d like to mention Forager, which narrowly missed out on first place. It’s an adorable indie game, perfect for those who love games like Stardew Valley. You can explore, craft, and farm, all in a cute 2d setting. Whilst the graphics are nothing to write home about, the game oozes charm. However, the best Xbox Game Pass game beginning with F is…
Fable III
This. This is what an action-adventure game should be like. I’d never played a Fable game before when I was first introduced to Fable III, and I was blown away by its quality. Every facet of the world is considered, and there are so many places to explore. Each town and city has its own unique aesthetic. The NPCs all have various attitudes towards you too, based on your actions and interactions.
I love the way combat works in this game. You can earn points to spend on various upgrades to your skills, and you can buy magical powers. You can then combine two different methods of magic for some really cool duo effects. Figuring out the best combos is one of the best parts of the game, and you’ll need to use tactics. Combat is exactly the right level of challenge, with enemies not being beaten too easily. You have to strategise and hone your skills, but it’s not frustrating to do so.
One of the most impressive parts of Fable III is how the story develops. Whilst the inciting incident sets the story in motion, where it goes after that is up to you. There are certain story beats that have to be met, but there’s also a lot of choice. Your decisions will earn you fast friends, but will also make you enemies. There are some really tough calls you have to make, which really engage you in the game.

You can also play co-op with a friend, and advance the story together. This is my favourite way to play, and it works so well. Honestly, if you haven’t already, you have to check out Fable III. I’m so excited for when the recently announced Fable 4 gets released.
Overall
Whilst there was definitely some strong competition, I’m happy with my choice for the best Xbox Game Pass game beginning with F. How about you? Do you agree with my pick, or would you have given first choice to a different game? Join the discussion over in our Facebook community!
