Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduced a lot of new elements to the franchise. It’s the first truly open world Pokémon game we’ve ever had, and the way you progress is incredibly different to the old titles. Even the pokedex serves a completely different purpose. Before, you had two options per pokémon – seen or caught. It doesn’t work that way in this game. Now, you complete research tasks for each pokémon to level up your entry. The problem is that you can’t check your pokedex during encounters. This previously meant having to potentially miss out on completing research tasks, but not anymore! Now you can have access to this incredible Pokemon Legends: Arceus pokedex tracker!
To fill up your pokedex and get to level 10 on each pokémon will take work. You’ll need to catch several of the same pokémon, as well as defeat them. You may need to use certain moves to defeat them. And you’ll need to see them use certain moves. But sometimes you don’t have time to check before an encounter, or you forget to. With this tracker, you can simply go into your own personal Excel file, and see where you’re up to. It’s simple to use and easy to navigate and update. Here’s everything you need to know about it!

About the Creator
I would like to stress that I can’t take credit for creating this masterpiece. That honour goes to Patric Gmuer who has very kindly entrusted me to host his document. He put countless hours into creating this document, as well as improving it over several versions. This final document is version 6, and it contains everything you could possibly need. Not only can you track your progress on research tasks for each pokémon, but you can also track requests, as well as see the locations for unowns, wisps, and old verses.
Patric has been a fan of the Pokémon games since Pokémon Red, and he still has his old cartridge. He’s loved playing them over the years, but fell off around gen 5. He did play Pokémon Sun/ Moon, but he skipped the later games. He says he felt like the formula was unchanged, and it wasn’t as exciting to play the same game repeatedly. But with Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it was brand new. In his words, ‘it feels more like what a Pokémon game should be‘. He liked being able to sneak around and capture pokémon without having random encounters or having to necessarily battle them.

Patric likes knowing what to do next, and that’s why he created this Pokémon Legends: Arceus pokedex tracker. He wanted something that he could look at and plan his next task. In the game, you can’t look at the pokedex during a battle, and sometimes several pokémon will join in. He wanted to be able to always have access to his pokedex and track what to do next. And he’s sharing this tracker with all of you!
Request Tracker
As I’ve mentioned, this pokedex tracker offers more than just tracking the research tasks. Another big part of the game is fulfilling all the requests. There are 117 of them in total, and it can be tricky to stay on top of them all. Patric has created a tab where you can see all of the requests in the game. There’s also a drop-down menu so you can select your progress. You can get visual confirmation of whether or not you’ve collected the request yet. You can also update when it’s completed.
I love that he made a colour-coded drop-down. If you don’t have the request yet, it’ll be highlighted in red. When you start the task, you can change it to yellow. And when you complete it, it changes to green. I love that this is an automatic process when you select an option from the drop-down. Patric has clearly put a lot of effort into making the formula. It even tells you who places the request and where to find them, plus the reward.

Location Trackers
There are several items and pokémon that you need to find throughout the map. This Pokemon Legends: Arceus pokedex tracker saves you from having to Google every few minutes. Instead, there are clear maps showing the locations of everything you need.
Each tracker is on a separate tab at the bottom. There’s an unown tracker, which shows you where you can find each letter. They’re clearly marked on the map, and easy to see.

He’s also added the locations of all 107 wisps that you need to find. Before you can collect them, you need to start the request ‘Eerie Apparitions in the Night’. You’ll be given the Odd Keystone which allows you to catch wisps. You need to get all of them to complete the request, and have the chance to catch a certain special pokémon.

He also has the locations for the old verses in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. These technically don’t offer an individual reward, but they expand the lore of the game. They’re also necessary if you’re a completionist who’s looking to get everything that you can.

Overall
Hopefully this Pokemon Legends: Arceus pokedex tracker will help you take your gameplay to the next level. Figure out what research tasks you still need to get even when you’re in battle with a pokémon. See where you’re up to on your requests, and what you still haven’t found yet. Check the locations for various things necessary for completion. Everything’s there and easy to keep track of.
It’s so convenient having everything all in one place, and Patric has done a phenomenal job. I feel so lucky to be able to share his incredible creation with all of you! This is absolutely amazing.
I’ve been looking for something like this for sooo long and ended up making my own (much simpler and crappier) version.
So excited to migrate my data over to this – it’s EXACTLY what I’ve been wanting!
Thank you!!!!
I suggest you convert this to an online Google Sheets file (I have done this for myself already) just to make it simpler for you to add updates and share with everyone.
You’re a superstar!!!
Really glad it was useful for you! I’m not the original creator, I simply worked with him to help host it and make it more accessible to people, but I plan to edit the link if he does make another update in future 🙂
