Skyward Falls All Collectibles Guide - Nikoderiko: The Magical World

I’ve been having an absolute blast with Nikoderiko: The Magical World. One of the things I’m loving most is how many collectibles there are. It makes the levels feel more exciting, and gives me a purpose beyond just reaching the exit. However, some of them are pretty well hidden, hence this Skyward Falls All Collectibles guide. Skyward Falls is the first area you come across, so you’ll get used to all the sneaky places that this game hides items.

Each level has 7 main collectibles that you’ll need to find: The letters ‘N’ ‘I’ ‘K’ ‘O’, 2 keys, and 1 crystal. There are also optional collectibles such as scrolls and coins, but those aren’t tracked in the level complete screen. This walkthrough is for the 7 main collectibles that you need to fully complete each level.

How to Get Keys in Nikoderiko: The Magical World

Keys are hidden throughout the levels, usually requiring some searching to discover. Each level has 2 keys which you can collect. However, finding them is only half the battle. Instead of finding the key itself in the overworld, you find a… portal(?) that takes you to a minigame. You’ll then have to complete the task in that minigame to earn the key.

Dying in the minigame does count as a death for your final level screen, but it doesn’t affect anything in the level. You simply get transported out of the minigame without losing any progress, and you can try again. Minigames are timed, and you have a set number of seconds to complete the task. The tasks will be one of the following:

Collect the Stars
Find the Key
Destroy Them All

N – Near the start of the level, you’ll see these trees. You need to jump up the tree on the left, then glide over to the tree on the right to collect the N.

I – Keep going, and you’ll come to this. I picked up the I by jumping on the top box then immediately jumping over to the left. However, if you mess up the jump, the platform below them levitates when you stand on it, so you should still be able to get it that way.

Key 1 – Further on, you’ll see that weird little sheep platform on the left of the image below, as well as this tree. To be able to get the height, you need to jump across from the sheep platform when it’s in the air. The Key minigame is initially shrouded in shrubbery, and will only become visible when you jump up to the top platform of the tree. This one involves collecting a bunch of stars.

K – Hard to miss this one, once you get to the part that you see in the image below, the K is just waiting on that platform for you. If you do accidentally land on the blue thing that propels you to the next ledge, you can just jump back down again, just be careful of the crab.

Crystal – When you get to this area, there will be those red hedgehog enemies all over those trees on the left. Kill them, then jump across the tree platforms to get the crystal.

Key 2 – Shortly after the level goes from 2.5D to 3D, you’ll see this wooden arrow sign on the left. It won’t be as obvious as it is in the picture as initially you’ll be facing straight forwards, so pay close attention. Follow the arrow to the right and into that glowing cave for another key minigame. This one involves destroying boxes without being hit by enemies (I’d recommend killing all the enemies first).

O – Another one that’s hard to miss. Right near the end, you’ll jump over this pit with the spiky plant, and the O is right in the middle.

N – Do you see that floating handle to the middle right of the image below? Use that to help you get onto this ledge, where the letter N awaits you.

Key 1 – When you first see the flower in the middle bottom of the image (there are several throughout the level, but this is the first one), drop left below the platform you arrive into the room on. It’s initially shrouded in shrubbery, but when you enter, the key minigame is revealed. This one is relatively tricky, and involves you having to defeat multiple enemies whilst platforming.

I – At one point, you reach a section where you’re climbing platforms by wall-jumping and using those floating handles. Instead of following the intended path to the right, jump across to the left when you reach the top. Wall jump and catch the floating handle (make sure the spiky enemy is on the other side), then quickly jump across to the ledge on the left. At the bottom, you’ll find the I. To get back out, just wall-jump.

Crystal – Hard to describe the area for this one, but it’s when you can make platforms go up and down by jumping on them. Get to the point you see in this image (initially the crystal is hidden by shrubbery, so look out for the platform that Nikoderiko is standing on), and then adjust the platforms so that the block in the image is raised. Jump across, and you’ll find the crystal.

Key 2 – Towards the end, you’ll enter a very dark passageways, lit by this eerie blue light. As you traverse, you’ll see a little ledge on the right, highlighted blue. Jump across to the ledge and move right, you’ll enter the minigame. This is another one where you have to collect the stars.

K – The K is waiting for you on the middle of this round platform in the dark passageway, hard to miss.

O – To get this one, you’ll need your dinosaur, you can’t reach it without him. The O will be visible when you first enter this room, but you won’t be able to reach it. You’ll need to raise the platform that’s up in the image below, then jump up with your dinosaur to reach the O. Sorry that you can’t see the O in the screenshot, I messed up and pressed the wrong button… oops. But I promise it’s there!

Owlspire Wheels All Collectibles

Key 1 – Near the start of the level, you’ll come across these horizontal stacked cogs. Instead of following the path forwards, jump to the ledge on the left when you reach the top, then walk back in the direction you just came. You’ll see the key minigame at the end. This one is another ‘Collect the Stars’ one, and it’s got a 20 second time limit, so it’s a challenge!

N – These first 3 collectibles are in quick succession. The N is just forward from the path you follow at the top of the cogs I just mentioned. Jump and catch it, and then make sure to deploy your glider, because…

Crystal – The crystal is on a bridge just below the N! Glide across to it, making sure to land just right.

I – You’ll come to some wheels that look kinda like hydro mills. Jump to the first handle (the one on the right of the screenshot), then keep jumping to the left to the I.

K – The K is hidden in a secret area, you can just see the bottom of it in the top left of the screenshot. Jump on the wooden platforms and keep going up, then when you reach the top, glide left to collect the K.

O – This one is much trickier than it looks, because it’s insta-death if you touch the bottom. You need to jump across to the platforms on the right, then step off (not jump off) when you’re just next to the O, then immediately jump left the second you collect it. If you don’t time the jumps right, you’ll end up dying, so timing is crucial.

Key 2 – This one is sneaky. You actually reach the exit first, and you might think you’ve missed it, but you haven’t. Do not jump to the exit, instead keep moving right. Walk behind the waterfalls (there are 2) and keep going to the right until you get to the key minigame. This one is a ‘Find the Key’ one and involves some relatively easy platforming whilst riding your beast and avoiding enemies.

Jellyfish Cove All Collectibles

Key 1 – When you enter the level, go forwards until you reach a little lake/ pond with waterfalls on the side. The waterfall on the right hand side has a key minigame behind it.

N – You can’t miss this one. After you get the key, walk forwards to the cannon, which will fire you directly through the N.

Crystal – A little further into the level, you have to go underwater. On your way down, you’ll see some blue jellyfish going around a large rock. There’s a hidden area on the right of this that contains a crystal (it’ll look like solid rock until you’re next to it).

I – Keep going down lower into the underwater area, and you’ll find the I. You can’t really miss it, just avoid the jellyfish.

K – You’ll reach an area where yo have to break a wooden barrier to enter it. Go up and to the left of where the shark-like enemies are, and you’ll find another wooden barrier to break. Enter this area and head down to grab the K, avoiding the enemies.

Key 2 – Head up from where you collect the K, and you’ll enter a secret hidden area. Wall jump up to the top, and you’ll find the key minigame on the left.

O – Keep going ahead in the level, and you’ll reach another underwater area where you can break the water’s surface. You’ll see the O on top of a bird enemy. Jump up and grab it.

Conclusion

There you have it! There are all the collectibles in Nikoderiko: The Magical World Skyward Falls area! Some of them are easier to get than others, but I believe in you! There are also scrolls and coins that can be found throughout the levels, so make sure to explore thoroughly.
