A break from formula this time! Thus far, the Success or Mess quizzes have been based on a particular letter of the alphabet, but I wanted to mix things up. So, for this round, all the questions will be films starring Leonardo DiCaprio. He has a very impressive career, and has acted in tons of movies. As such, I tried to pick movies from a wide range of genres, spanning several decades. Some are from his earlier years of acting, whilst others are more recent. As usual, you’ll have to guess how the movies fared on the review site Rotten Tomatoes. So, let’s see how you do in this Leonardo DiCaprio movies quiz!
Now, bear in mind that this is based on the overall percentage from the critics. Audience scores are irrelevant to this quiz, so try to think from the perspective of an expert. The classification for success or mess is:
Over 75 = Success
74 or under = Mess

#1. Catch Me If You Can (2002)
Really fun movie, this one, with excellent pacing. Worth a watch if you haven’t seen it. Which you obviously haven’t, or you wouldn’t accuse it of being a mess.
#2. Shutter Island (2010)
Personally I thought this movie was great, but unfortunately it only got 68% from the critics.
#3. Inception (2010)
Come on, this movie was famously received to huge acclaim, and had a huge cultural impact. How could you think that this one was a mess?
#4. The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
I haven’t seen this one myself, but I heard it was very good.
#5. The Revenant (2015)
Leo finally won his Oscar with this one!
#6. The Great Gatsby (2013)
You’ve got to be careful when you’re working on a Classic, and I guess this one missed the mark.
#7. Blood Diamond (2006)
I guess the critics didn’t think it sparkled as brightly as a diamond.
#8. Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood (2019)
Interestingly, the audience score was only 70%, but the critics gave it 85%.
#9. William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet (1996)
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet…
#10. The Aviator (2004)
Another of the more well-known Leo movies, critics seemed to approve it.
Well, what was your score in this Leonardo DiCaprio movies quiz? If you got 7 or more, then you can safely say that you’re a true fan. If you scored 6 or less, maybe it’s worth refreshing yourself on his movies. Of course, as with all movies, it’s easy to be misled by your personal taste. After all, a lot of the movies on that list that were rated a ‘mess’ are really fun to watch! At the end of the day, films are about what you enjoy, and we should only put so much stock into what the critics say.
