After several posts in this series, we have come upon our first vowel! And honestly, I was not prepared for how difficult it would be to find movies starting with U. Fun fact – there really aren’t that many of them. I usually think about movies I’ve seen or heard of, and am able to come up with a decent list, but with U, I was drawing a blank, and had to turn to the internet for help. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I read through the entire Wikipedia list of every single movie beginning with U. There were even foreign ones on there! However, I thought it was important to only choose movies for the quiz that I thought you guys might have heard of. For that reason, instead of the usual 10 movies, there are only 7.
So, that just means you have a better shot of scoring full marks! As usual, the scores are based on ratings from Rotten Tomatoes. I’ll admit there are some lesser known movies in there, but it was the best I could do. U was just a tricky letter to find titles for! However, the extra challenge means it’ll be all the more satisfying if you do well. And if you don’t, then at least you have an excuse!
Now, bear in mind that this is based on the overall percentage from the critics. Audience scores are irrelevant to this quiz, so try to think from the perspective of an expert. The classification for success or mess is:
Over 75 = Success
74 or under = Mess

The first 10 minutes still make me cry every time.

A classic M Night Shyamalan film, it unfortunately only scored 70%, and therefore missed out on being a success.

This one is not only a mess, but scored a really low 27%, so it’s a mess by a mile.

Horror films can be tricky to get right, but Jordan Peele did it again, and Us scored an impressive 93%.

So, how did you do with these movies starting with U? Don’t forget, this week’s post had a maximum score of 7, rather than 10, so you might have got a lower number than usual. Let’s say that if you got 5 or more, then you’ve earned the right to brag. And if you scored 4 or less then don’t feel too bad, the movie selection was tough this time around.
