How to Play The Disney Dreamlight Valley Trick-or-Treat Event
The Disney Dreamlight Valley Trick-or-Treat event runs from 23rd October – 31st October 31, 2024. Throughout the Valley, you’ll find brightly coloured candy buckets packed with sweet treats, plus limited-time duties to complete for fantastic spooky furniture rewards.
Let’s get into the details of how you can collect, craft, and complete duties for all the Halloween fun!
How to Collect Candy in Disney Dreamlight Valley
During the Disney Dreamlight Valley Trick-or-Treat event, you’ll notice candy buckets scattered around the Plaza, filled with sweet treats. These buckets come in three colours — Red, Green, and Purple — and each one spawns 1 to 3 Candy food items that match the colour of the bucket. So, if you pick up a Green bucket, you’ll get Green Candy!
When to find Candy
The candy buckets appear once per day from 23rd October to the 30th. But on Halloween, buckets will spawn multiple times throughout the day.
What to do with the Candy
You can either eat the candy or gift it to Villagers. But make sure to save at least two of each type for crafting Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl!
How to Craft Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl
New for the 2024 Disney Dreamlight Valley Trick-or-Treat event, Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl is the perfect way to add some festive charm to your home. It’s a pumpkin-shaped bowl that… Looks just like Mickey Mouse! Kind of! It’s got the ears, what more do you want?
To craft it, you’ll need:
- 2x Purple Candy
- 2x Red Candy
- 2x Green Candy
- 5x Clay
Head to any Crafting Station in the Valley to whip up this adorable piece of Halloween décor.

How to Complete Halloween Duties
Now, let’s get to the duties!
These are special tasks that you’ll find in your Dreamlight Duties menu under the Village section, marked with a pumpkin. These duties can only be completed once, so if you finished them in previous years, you won’t be able to repeat them in 2024. Here’s what you’ll need to do for each one:
Trick or Treat
For this duty, spread the Halloween spirit by giving 10 different Villagers a piece of candy! Just remember, it needs to be 10 unique Villagers — no re-gifting to the same one!
Once you’ve played neighbourhood candy distributor, you’ll earn the Mickey Mouse Pumpkin for your efforts.
Sugar Rush
This duty has three levels, and it’s all about indulging in sweet-based meals. You can use any ingredient from the Sweet category, like Sugarcane or Cocoa Beans. The simplest meal for this duty is plain old Candy (just one Sweet ingredient does the trick).
Here’s the breakdown of rewards for each level:
- Eat 15 sweet meals for the Happy Jack-o’-Lantern
- Eat 30 sweet meals for the Mischievous Jack-o’-Lantern
- Eat 45 sweet meals for the Friendly Jack-o’-Lantern
A Three-Course Halloween Meal
To finish this duty, you just need to eat one of each candy type — Red, Green, and Purple — from the buckets you find around your valley. Once you’ve devoured these tasty treats, you’ll receive the Green Trick-or-Treater’s Bounty as your reward!
Villainy Wears Many Masks
Time to don your most devious disguise! To complete this duty, all you have to do is wear any Mask from your Wardrobe. If you don’t have one yet, some easy options are the Donald Duck Mask from Olaf’s quest “Olaf Presents Dreamlight Valley” or the Rozian Mask from Mike Wazowski’s quest “Germs Abound”.
Once you’ve got your mask on, you’ll unlock the Purple Trick-or-Treater’s Bounty.
Stockpiling Pumpkins
Harvesting 100 Pumpkins is your goal for this duty.
Pumpkin seeds can be bought from Goofy’s Stall in the Forgotten Lands, and they’re one of the most valuable crops in the game — so not only will you get the Pumpkin Stack as a reward, but you can also rake in some serious Star Coins when you sell them!
